For Donovan…

For Donovan…

… who missed me.  :o)

I’ve been on vacation from work for the last two weeks and, as usual, that often means a break from my computer.  Oh how I’ve missed you, Internet, and yet somehow… I also did not.  Regardless, I am back.

This holiday started with an unusual amount of stress, but I am happy to report that after a week with the folks on the farm, some solid time playing Wii with my neice and nephew, and a week at home which allowed me to catch up on cleaning and household drudge work, I am relaxed, happy, and ready to get back to the daily grind.

Have I got any unusually interesting stories? No.  Nor do I have any photos immediately ready to post.  But I’ll be back in the swing of things in no time, I can assure you.  I have a new year ahead of me, a heart full of hope and promise, and people surrounding me who I can count on in the best and worst of times.

Happy New Year, you beautiful people.  How’s that for a slice of fried gold?  ;o)

Happy Friday! Wait… What?

Happy Friday! Wait… What?

Okay, so I keep thinking today is Friday.  But it’s only Thursday and I’m slowly coming to terms with that with every sip of coffee I take.

This week has been pretty full at work and otherwise, so I suppose it’s not overly surprising that I keep thinking it’s later in the week than it really is.

Work has been going super well, as I am currently coding my existing Blackberry app so that it is new and improved and, most importantly, is able to tell the user what is wrong when it is unable to connect to our server…

Last night, I spent a nice dinner with Jim, Gizzy, and Kristin out at Open Sesame, followed by a quick drink with Kristin afterwards when she drove me home only to discover that I had forgotten my keys.  Lol… We went to the local pub for a glass of wine until my roommate was able to meet up with me so that I could get into my house.  Whoever took my keys out of my hand bag and hung them on the key rack that is MINUS SEVEN POINTS FOR YOU.  Oh, wait.  Right, that would have been me.  And that would be where my keys actually belong so… I’m just gonna take a face palm on this one and carry on about my day.

Tonight, barring any unforeseen events, I should have a fairly quiet evening.  Maybe I’ll finally put up the Christmas tree, and maybe I’ll give my folks a call for a chat while I enjoy a cup of tea and bask in the glow from the lights.  There is something magical about the light from those little bulbs we like to drape around our trees.  After spending time with the people I love, that Christmas glow is my favorite part of the season.  I know it’s silly, but it really is.

So, those are my rambling thoughts for today.  Not very coherent, but there you go. That’s probably a fairly accurate representation of my fluttering mind today.  :-)

Enjoy your Thursday, kittens.  Enjoy it like it was Friday.
